Making a Claim

At Shield Insurance Brokers we assist you with claims.

In the event of loss, damage, or circumstance, please contact your broker or office for advice on policy coverage and the best course of action.

If you require immediate attention and you cannot contact us at the office or on our mobile numbers, if you know the insurer, in some instances you can lodge your own claims over the phone to avoid filling out claim forms and delays with your repairs. Should you need to make a claim on your insurance, the following guide may assist you:

  • Do what is possible to minimise further loss/damage, injury or death, depending on your circumstances.
  • At the earliest possible time, and while it is fresh in your mind, note down in detail your version of the events that have lead you to make a claim.  If possible and if appropriate take photographs.
  • We recommend you report all potential claims to Shield/or your insurer as soon as possible after the event.
  • In the event of some claims (for example, a motor vehicle or theft claim), you may need to report the incident to Police.
